From a 13-year-old's Mont Blanc dream to Europe's greatest mountaineering challenge
The young mountaineer
The Mont Blanc Dream: At 13, Tim had a big dream – to climb Mont Blanc. But Tobias, experienced in the mountains, suggested: "Let's train first and start with smaller mountains."
"Dad, I want to climb Mont Blanc!" That was the sentence that started it all. Today I'm glad we took the long road – every mountain made me stronger.

Almost daily training for the next tour
The experienced adventurer
35 years of diabetes as motivation: When his first diabetologist said "You can do anything with diabetes that you can do without it", Tobias took him at his word and has been seeking new adventures ever since.
"What father has the luck to experience such an adventure with his son? Yes, it's not easy – we share suffering, pain and exertion. But also incredible moments that will connect us forever."
- Tobias Steinberger
The first major tour – a long, diverse route with many variations. Tim mastered it at 13 years old and proved his talent for mountaineering.
Training on various via ferratas to improve technique and fitness. Tim quickly developed into a confident climber.
First experiences with glaciers, rope teams and alpine equipment. Preparation for the challenges of the four-thousanders.
4164m – Tim's first four-thousander! On a day when they had to break trail, they were one of only three rope teams at the summit of Breithorn (!!).
4190m – A new dimension: The first four-thousander with ski touring! Tim learns how versatile mountaineering can be.
4061m – Continuing in the Italian Alps. Every summit brings new experiences and strengthens the father-son team - this time joined by 2 friends!
4248m – This time not just the two of them! Tim experiences how wonderful it is to share mountain experiences with friends.
4107m – A demanding day tour in the Bernese Oberland. Tim proves he can master longer, technical tours.
4809m – Tim's original dream! After 8 summits, the time had finally come. Here the idea was born: Why not all 82 four-thousanders?
After Mont Blanc, the idea was born: To climb all 82 four-thousanders of the Alps. A project that will unite them for years.
